Identify Your Bite
Bad bytes
Your bite (occlusion) refers to the alignment of your teeth and the
way your upper and lower teeth fit together. If your bite doesn't line
up the way it should, you have what is called malocclusion (bad bite).
Teeth that don't stay in line can be damaged and you can experience
jaw and gum problems. Our job is to keep your teeth straight and in
line.
The gap. Good for clothes, bad for teeth.
So why worry about some gaps between the teeth? Your teeth work together
as a team. They help support each other and work together to chew food.
Teeth also help support your cheeks.
If your teeth don't have the right space, your bite won't work correctly
and your jaw may look out of balance. Without the right support, the
added stress from chewing food will cause your teeth to shift. This
is one way your teeth can become crooked. Our staff are specialists
in closing the gaps.
Stop crowding my space!
If your teeth are crowded together, you can have the same problems as
with gaps between the teeth. Crowded teeth want their own space and
will start shifting. What happens next? Crooked teeth!
Crooked teeth will steal your smile and can cause all sorts of problems.
That malocclusion (bad bite) will eventually cause your teeth to wear
out and eventually, decay and fall out! But there's more! You can also
damage your gums and the muscles that move your jaw, affecting your
appearance, speech and your ability to chew.
Rivoli & Rivoli Orthodontics will give your teeth the space they
need and the look you want.
